One of the major issues in hardwood flooring installation and refinishing is the dust that is generated during the sanding process! Many people have decided to buy pre-finished hardwood flooring, laminate or other type of flooring simply because they do not want to deal with the dust.

At Gustafson Floor Source we offer TRUE “Dust Free Sanding” as an option on all “Site Finished” hardwood floor installations, all recoats and all refinishes. We have 2 Dust Containment Systems (DCS)! These units sit outside your home during the sanding & finishing process and connect all work tools to the 27 horsepower gasoline fired vacuum system. DCS helps ensure a 98% dust free environment – keeping your home clean, fume free, and ensuring that debris doesn’t end up affecting your finish. We are the only company in Mid-Michigan that offers this service.

Do not be fooled, others offering recoating and refinishing services will tell you that they have dust free or near dust free sanding. These individuals are using shop vacuums and dust collection bags which can reduce some of the dust, but you will still experience significant amounts of dust that becomes airborne, gets into your heating and cooling vents and adheres to just about everything. It takes the power of the “Atomic Dust Containment System” to remove the dust from your home as it is generated.
